Hortonville Chiropractor, Dr. Jamie Vander SandenMeet Dr. Jamie Vander Sanden

Growing up in Little Chute, WI, I had a dream of pursuing a profession where I could help people. So after high school it was natural that I found myself at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in the Nursing program.

You Never Know Where Life Will Take You

During my first year in the Nursing Program I was in a car accident. My injuries were not severe, but enough to give me whiplash and the start of very bad headaches.

It was recommended to me that I see a chiropractor. That was the start of a new journey for me, because not only did he educate me about my body (even more than the nursing program!), I no longer had the headaches and now had a newly found desire to know everything about chiropractic.

Passion for Pediatric Chiropractic

Shortly after, I was accepted and attended Logan Chiropractic College in St Louis, Missouri. During the 5 years I was there my husband and I had our first son who was born premature and without surfactant in his lungs (This is the stuff that keeps the lungs from sticking together when you breathe). He spent 3 weeks and 2 days in the NICU. Those were the hardest days of my entire life. He would later come home with severe asthma. He was put on a nebulizer and we found ourselves in the ER 10-15 times before he was two.

During this difficult and stressful time, I was just starting my internship at Logan and I was introduced to a pediatric chiropractic by a professor. I started adjusting my son with her assistance and within 6 months there was no more asthma. This is where the passion for my pediatrics started.

Continuing Education

I travel regularly to Chicago to attend multiple seminars on pediatric health care issues. These seminars keep me up to date on the latest health care issues and adjusting techniques for kids from prenatal to newborn to adolescents. And, I’m proud to say I was named Pediatric and Maternity Chiropractor of the Year by the Birth, Belly and Beyond, a local doula organization.

Outside the Office

When not in my practice, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. We love being outdoors and love to travel. Staying fit is important to me, so I workout 2 – 3 times per week and find time to walk my 2 dogs regularly.

I am a mother, a daughter, a wife, and a friend. If you or your family are in need, I’ll be your chiropractor. Contact us today to learn more about how our services and friendly team can help you on your journey to better health.
